illegals are always going to find a way to get into this country. they might as well put up and electric fence around us and never let anyone in or out.
let's not forget that the government takes it sweet time giving people, who do go about coming to our country the right way, their visas. which in turn puts them as illegal eventhough their paperwork is approved they are just waiting on getting their stuff. so the government is just as much to blame for that.
i'm of mexican descent, i am an army veteran, i don't agree with illegal immigration or amnesty. they should go through it like everyone else has had to before them. my father did it and my uncles and cousins.
the only thing that chaps my hide is when people see someone of color who speaks another language it's automatically assumed they are illegals. i worry every day for my husband who is mexican, born and raised in the usa, as was his mom and grandmother, that someone is going to hurt him because they think he is an illegal when he is so not. or on the off chance someone says something stupid to my children because they are mexican as well. i won't stand for that. we all have cultures that come from somewhere else.
so let's not make assumptions on people that's plain stupidity. everyone has the right to voice their opinions but like thumper said on bambi "if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all". because making assumptions just makes you look like some crazy racist person.
i wonder if people would make such a big deal if someone was speaking german, polish, norwegian as a opposed to spanish, chinese, or somalian.

way to go sicofit. i was trying to say that as well. blame this, blame that. hello it comes down to parenting, i'm already getting my son ready for school. we read, practice math, and whatever else he needs help with. it's the parents job to keep up on this.
i'm not going to put my trust in some teacher who has all these other students to take care of, i'm going to take it upon myself to get him ready and able to stand on his own. that's my job as a parent. not to let him do whatever he wants and slide on by, no sir that doesn't happen. school first always.

just because someone speaks another language does not make them illegals, i'm proud of my heritage and that i can speak two languages. how many people can say that? this is not an issue about race or immigration, which having a father who is an immigrant does not put me on there side. i don't agree with illegal immigration but just because someone speaks another language don't make assumptions that they are illegal. that's just stupidity.
as for school, maybe more parents need to get involved with their children and their schoolwork needs. help the teachers out a little bit. i know we are busy parents, i sometimes forget to check my son's work because i'm so caught up in my own thing. i try my very best to stay on top of it and help him with whatever he needs. maybe we as parents need to take some extra steps to help our children understand their material. Teachers can't do everything.

i get the supporting the local businesses i work for one myself. but being a lower income family i get the having to go to bargains too. times are tough for everyone and stores have to raise prices to stay in the game which makes it even harder for consumers to keep up. i just see no end to it until we find some turn around point.

thanks craze and lovelylady. you really need to take yourself outside of a situation to understand it better and lovelylady, you are right that working towards the love rather than the hate is such a stellar idea.
