Who gets to clean up after the game is done?

Why isn't the tribune removing postings that clearly contain racial slurs? Don't be fooled that it is not a racial slur - just like our former administrator Gabrielson tried to explain away his license plates meaning when we all know what it meant.

Why would the state of MN pay for her education? She can take out loans like all the rest of us. The problem is that the Albert Lea Inn, formerly Days Inn, formerly the Kahler Hotel is not able to bring enough business in year round to sustain a decent profit. Thus all the owners in the last 5 years. It is to big and just because they book conventions etc does not mean it can make a go of it. And what idiot at the bank ever approved a loan for someone with no business knowledge. When I go to the hospital I sure don't want an accountant caring for me. There is a shortage of nurses so I say she is making a good choice.

wakemaker - Exactly what are trying to imply? I hope your comment is directed towards the times of crime being committed and not the appearance of who is committing them. I think that with the growing use of meth there will be a growing crime rate, especially violent ones.

If payroll checks were bounced, why isn't the owner being charged with theft. The ex-employees should pursue the matter.

People go to school to be accountants. Just like any other profession. You don't learn it on the job. Does she do her own taxes also? I have to wonder about the bank that borrowed her the money for the business. What kind of business plan did she have? Why was the hotel being sold in the first place? Not feeling to sorry for her - just the people she employed. Not the first time people have lost their jobs because of mismanagement.

Very simple - this owner didn't understand even the basic of bookkeeping principals. They spent more than they brought in. Should have spent the money on an accountant instead of air conditioners.

There was also an incident up north recently where a 31 year old intoxicated women backed up her vehicle over a tent and killed a 4 month old and injured the mother. I have been at campgrounds and had to leave because of all the intoxicated adults that are loud, obnoxious, try to sleep in the wrong tents, and don't watch thier children. Camping is supposed to be a family event. Maybe they should have adult only campgrounds for those that want to drink all night by the campfire.

People shouldn't leave their property laying around(especially by the lake) if they are worried about it. Actually anyone that leaves their lawn chairs, blankets etc. in order to save a spot for the parade are kidding themselves. If an actual person comes to sit down in the spot "saved" they can move the stuff aside and the owner of property can say nothing about it. Once you leave your stuff where it doesn't belong it is abandoned property. And the boulevard does not belong to the homeowners, it belongs to the city. If you want a good spot for the parade, then sit yourself down and wait.

Good grief. Try cooking with rubber gloves on. It is one thing for Subway to use gloves when preparing your sandwiches but try grilling an omelet with rubber gloves on. If you are so worried about it I suggest you eat at home. And the next time you grocery shop put gloves on before you put your hands on the cart handle cuz there are probably more germs there than on food you get at a restaurant.
On K&K Bakery now a restaurant
