"step outside your little box and look at the situation from the majorities eyes and ask yourself how ridiculous all this seems to them instead of looking at it from a gay persons veiw."

i wasn't going to butt in until i read this comment from desertdog. this is possibly the most arrogant thing i have ever read.

how DIFFICULT it is for all of us in the majority, i know. i for one have a very hard time; i just wish the gays would for once look at it from the MAJORITY'S point of view instead of thinking only about themselves. then they would see how ridiculous it is - i know exactly what you mean! being in the majority is soooo rough, i just wish these gays would stop pestering us with their ridiculous quest for equality; it's really annoying and unfair that they waste our time with it! just like women and blacks before them; man were they ever pests! i'm so glad that society never changes.. i don't know what i would do if women and blacks had rights; what a world that would be - imagine!

... you pompous little person. i feel so sorry for you: you call yourself a christian and yet you are so discriminatory! try not to be so concerned with what's different and look inside your heart. i know that god created you with better intentions than what you're demonstrating right now. life is too short to have so much anger, man. let it go, live and let live and stop worrying about things that frankly have nothing to do with you. my god celebrates love, not hate. maybe you should get on board.

disgusted,

so what if he's a little full of himself? the world needs more rich folk like him - and i don't mean conceited. his conceitedness is only a character flaw; it doesn't interrupt his ability to do what's right for the greater good of society.

despite his personal attack on george marin (i agree, but it was a low blow dude) and his misspelling of "bologna", i'd say that he said everything pretty well!

and don't you dare say "READ MY POSTS! I KNOW THAT BLACKS VOTE DEMOCRATIC" - i read your posts, don't worry. that, however, is not my point.
i understand that you know that blacks vote democratic.. yet you can't seem to fathom that blacks didn't vote for Obama just because of his skin color. yes, that can be the reason for some, but you can't tell me that you actually think that if it had been someone else other than obama that mccain would have captured the black vote?? if so, you are dumber than i thought.

i don't see what's so hard about fitting this fact into your tiny little head: african-americans vote democratic. period. it has little or nothing to do with the candidate's skin color, seeing as we've NEVER HAD A COLORED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BEFORE OBAMA.

so. now that we've got that fact, we can sit down and compare.
2004 Election (both candidates white):
Black Vote - 11% Bush, 88% Kerry

2000 Election (both candidates white):
Black Vote - 8% Bush, 90% Gore

1996 Election (both candidates white):
Black Vote - 12% Dole, 84% Clinton

1992 Election (both candidates white):
Black Vote - 10% Bush Sr., 83% Clinton

1988 Election (both candidates white):
Black Vote - 10% Bush Sr., 90% Dukakis

are you seeing a trend here? because if not, i'm not sure how to help you anymore.

pompous, stubborn and bigoted - all three definitely fit you! too bad all of your words for me are synonyms; i didn't have to guess, but thanks!

wait, now i'm not so sure that virginian understands about black voters. i thought he did, but now i'm just not sure.

blacks vote for democratic candidates because of the ISSUES, not because the candidate may or may not be black/white. for african-american voters (not all, but many), it's never been about race. they just have ideals that fit better with the democratic party. this makes the snippet from your email very irrelevant.
it had nothing to do with barack obama (yeah okay, for some it did, but even if they did vote for him because he's african-american, i can hardly imagine that they agree with anything mccain has to say about the issues.. why would you vote for someone you don't agree with?); blacks just tend to vote democratic. you can check back in past elections to see the stats when there WASN'T a black candidate, which is what alcitizen tried to do in the first place. you'll see that it turns out democratic every time. therefore, the black vote probably won't ever turn out to be 50/50, regardless of what race the candidate may be.

ugh, you guys are talking about two different things. READ each other's posts every once in a while. virginian, i believe you are trying to prove that america should not be considered a racist country since obama got the majority of the white vote as well, am i wrong?

alcitizen misinterpreted virginian's comment about the white vote and focused on the black vote, trying to prove that the black vote was not the deciding factor in the election.

you both agree that blacks mainly vote democratic, that the black vote this time around helped but did not decide the overall election, and that white voters should not be looked down upon as racist since the majority of the vote went to obama anyways. okay! now both of you just shhhh. too much.
however, virginian, i'm gonna have to disagree on your comment about america not being racist: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081115/ap_o...

just like the gentleman in this article said, racism is cancer; it doesn't go away, it just goes into remission.

and also:

"I feel sorry for her, for she doesn't not know what she doesn't know."

I feel sorry for you too, making a statement like that!!!! Can you explain that??

i can explain that. he means that she is unaware of her own stupidity; ignorant of her own ignorance if you will. that is a deadly combination, and one that i find with sarah palin to be completely and unfortunately true.

"I have never been denied a job because I wasn't black nor have I been given a job because I am white. I earned a job based on my own merits, that's the American way."

I see, but you still cry out when minorities are given jobs? That sounds like you're automatically assuming that they aren't the qualified ones for the job. Hmm.

I don't agree with Affirmative Action 100% either - when two equally qualified people are competing and the minority gets the job just because of their minority status, that's not right. there must be another way to choose than just basing it on race.
There are, however, still racists in this country (look in the mirror) who make decisions based on race, and this law was put into effect to protect minorities from people exactly like that. this is why i can support it; i'd rather have social justice than an unbalanced caste system.

"In other words it is better that thousands of Iraqi civilians die instead of American civilians. Passionate conservatism at its best."

didn't you know that you can't put a price on an american life? all others can be bought and sold, but americans lives are priceless.
