The Ahlahasa isn't the only print paid for by tax dollars that has students reading and discussing homosexuality in (and out of) the classroom. I mentioned Whitman and Ginsberg earlier because their canonized poems of love and adoration are read and taught from anthologies in high school. I believe the teachers, particularly in the English/Humanities department, know how to conduct constructive discussions about these pieces of literature with students, and in a way that leads to mature writing and analysis, just as Jill has displayed here with this article. The Ahlahasa is an award-winning student newspaper and we should be proud to support the students and faculty behind it.

Great article. Great discussion.
I don't agree with toby. Are we still reading Allen Ginsberg and Walt Whitman at the ALHS? (Can we add Jill to the canon?)

I think we should also find out which classes used the nice fluffy stuff and which ones just threw the cheap rolls. I realize those trees are covered in bark anyway, but don't the trees at ALHS deserve the best? Aren't those streams of white like draped mink? Which classes made those trees feel like rockstars?
I feel like this reflects on the amount of school-spirit a class has. And it'd be neat to see a list ranking all the classes since this started. Root could be a judge?
