ErnieGann,
If you would have been at the Walking Moai Celebration tonight I think you would take back everything you wrote in your post. There were some incredible success stories told tonight. I don't know how someone can be against making new friends, living longer, and living better. You are incredibly ill informed. I can speak for my group. We did volunteer work, we made new friends, and several members became totally committed to improving their fitness through behavior changes. How can you argue that this is not a good thing?

gonetomorrow,
So in your analogy, it appears you are saying if the girl is a Dem, then it is her own fault that she is in that situation. Is that what you are saying? Are you also saying that an Albert Lea police officer would turn a blind eye to a rape situation? That's ridiculous!

I've known Ben for years, and he's worked hard for everything he's achieved. I wish him the best of luck as he certainly deserves it.
It seems almost every time there is an article about an Albert Lea native in the paper, someone uses it as an opportunity to build up their own self-esteem by putting him/her down. It's a shame really.

I like Sam Mitchell and Mark Jackson. They are both former players that were know as coaches on the court. They would both command the respect of the players and provide good coaching. Feedman, if you don't care, why bother to read and post comments? Maybe you just enjoy spreading negativity?

Feedman,
What part of the story do you consider a joke? Is it walking for better health, making new friendships, people having fun, or something else?

Mr. Albert Lea,
Do you have something against the boys on the Albert Lea boys hockey team? They are just kids you know. Saying they chocked against Century is mean spirited. As an adult, your should know better than to trash on teenagers. Did you parents ever tell you that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?

Mr. Albertlea,
First you use a nice article about Coach Nystrom to bash him. Now you use a nice article about Coach Nystrom to bash Mike Carlson. Where was Mike's name mentioned in the article? You really have me scratching my head. If you are going to mention people's names and then quote them, you really should sign your own name as well. I don't believe you should use a public forum to call out Mike Carlson for a personal issue that you have with him. Try giving him a phone call or talk to him again in person. Maybe you could get over it that way.

Coach Nystrom,
Congratulations on your 600th victory. More importantly, congratulations on making a positive difference in the lives of your players.
Mr. Albert Lea, I'm amazed by all the energy you spend ripping Coach Nystrom. What's your agenda? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, I find it rude of you to take every opportunity you can find to rip someone. I hope you are not as negative in all aspects of your life!

ErnieGann,
I guess I'll just have to disagree with you on this one. Obviously, we see this Vitality Project very differently. What you see as HYPE, I see as enthusiasm. While you see support groups as a negative, I see it as a positive. I'm not afraid to admit that I've needed the support of my friends and family at times during my life. My walking group plans to continue to walk together, socialize, and do volunteer projects long after the Vitality Project ends. Nobody told us to do this, it's our choice. As far as you guessing that I'm a big government supporter that needs to be told what to do, that's quite a leap from the topic of Blue Zones. Please stick to the topic at hand.
