You are correct Austin, going downhill very quickly. That is the reason I am moving my family out of this city, county and state!

You must be buckled in to ride in a car, but no need to wear a helmet on a motorcycle. What is WRONG with this state?!?!?

The reason that Iowa allows smoking in the casino's is because the casino's give back so much to the state that the state does not want to take the chance of reduced revenue. That is the benefit of having the Iowa Gaming Association. It realizes that gambling bring jobs, tax dollars and tourism (which brings more revenue). So, rather than letting all the gambling dollars go to Indian communities, the state actually benefits. Minnesota should take note, although I believe it is too late and laws protect Indian casinos. Iowa has some Indian casino's as well.

IGA generated more than $1 billion for Iowa's economy in 2008. More details can be found here. http://www.iowagaming.org/reinvesting_in... If only Minnesota had a clue on how to generate revenue!

Standingby - The reason that it has come up time and time again is because there are legal charges stemming from the incident. The Tribune is just reporting how the case is progressing. Also, unless I missed something, I don't recall any fatalities in the "lady vs bank" incident. There is no comparison between these accidents whatsoever. Think about it for a minute.

I hooked up my converter box and went from 5 stations to 20! I pick up multiple public tv stations including Wisconsin public tv. I also picked up a channel from Waterloo and one from Cedar Rapids. I love it. Time to say good bye to Dish. I will admit that I do have a small T shaped antenna on my roof that has a power boost but it only cost about $80 6 years ago. Well worth it now!

I support the project very much. However, being realistic, I am thinking about 90% of the local population will not be able to afford memberships to the course or the cost for the residential lots. The big draw will be having a nice banquet facility. Other than that with the economy the way it is, I am not sure who will be able to afford what it has to offer. Best of luck to the developers though, I hope I am wrong.

When this story first came out there was no reference to the capacity of the van. The story was added to as details came about. So some readers may not have had the van details when they posted their comments. My prayers go out to all involved.

I have a very low profile antenna on my roof but after I connected my DTV converter box, I now pull in over 20 channels. I think I will say goodbye to my dish.

I will predict Dish Network and Direct TV sales will be on the increase. Competition is good. A second cable provider in town would be a great thing.
