Sorry, taxpayer, but lkfrancisr has it right. This kind of stuff is happening at all levels of hockey, though money is not always involved, where parents gain favoritism for their kids through interaction with coaches and team management. If you don't believe it's happening, you really need to open your eyes.

pkb and SunMan do have points -- if not for our justice system, most of the rest of you seem to imply that you would convict and string them up without a trial. Hence his "lynch mob" comment, which I agree with as I have read most of the commentary on all of these stories.

"you must remember, innocent until proven quilty. But then they did confess didn't they!!!!!! The lawyers seem to don't think that counts"
- Hopefully the law enforcement personnel that took those confessions properly adminstered the reading of their rights to the accused. If they flubbed it, this whole thing turns even uglier than it already is.

Thank you very much. And to think, I am in the Armed Services defending your right to say that, while your taxes pay my salary.

Wingo and Observer -- They may have admitted to it, but until the legal system runs through something called "Due Process" and they becomed convicted, they are still, in the eyes of the court, innocent until proven guilty. They deserve that much. Let the courts do their job.

Opinionated, thanks for saying that. I was scrolling down and was about to say nearly the same thing.

You all are acting like this is the wild west and you sound just like a lynch mob. You've heard what you want to hear and convicted them in your minds -- so they must guilty. If you want to live that way, you might want to consider living eleswhere, because the legal system of the United States and Minnesota doesn't work that way.

On Council approves social-host measure

This effort holds the people hosting a party accountable just like a bar is held acccountable under Dram Shop law, or just like you are liable if you refuse to shovel your walk and someone slips and injures themselves.

If you are so reckless that you hold a party and have no idea who is in your house, or what age they are, then you deserve the full penalty of law.
