Boy, I just shake my head. What is the deal? Hats off to the teachers, BUT, we are in a recession, so why shouldn't you sacrifice a raise like most of us do. Let's thank God we still have jobs, if you do. If you do not, I bet you would be happy to be a teacher at a lesser wage. By the way I average 45 hrs a week with four weeks of vacation, which computes to averaging 41 hrs a week so what is the deal? We have choices. Enough said

35 years ago I had Mary as an instructor in Typing and because of her I am able to type this note. And next to Mrs. Hughes Loren is the best teacher I ever had in school. You guys are great, my hats off to you both. I am sure you have touched many people in many different ways.
Way to go.

I agree with the story. But it is not just the cats killing birds and other wild life. I have at least 3 stray cats in my area, I believe they belong to the neighbors. I use to feed birds and they had a hay day around my yard. Now they just SH!T in my flower bed and guess what....ya you got it, flowers are dead, and crap all over in the flower bed. I wish people would keep thier pets contained one way or another.

I agreee with borninAL and opinionated, a drug addiction is I am sure very hard to over come. We who are over weight and try to cut back on eating would have an idea on how hard it is to control a bad habit. She never hurt anyone else so keep hurt out of jail and fine her to support the court costs and make sure she stays clean. I am sure she is a good person and will learn from her mistakes.

Just a couple of thoughts, I do not think any one is read their rights until they are under arrest. I do not think they need an attorney present if they are just being questioned. So is this when they got a confession? And do we need the confessions? Were not the other girls found guilty of not reporting such crime. I am not sure but this is what I recall.

This trial or process is no different than any other, when they are guilty it will drag on forever. When they are innocent it will be a quick and speedy trial.

I know the song and I agree, the dirt was there fist. May be you should read what I said, the nice neigborhood was there first.
Did you look at the picture's that are in question? I would not let a homeless person live in these houses. People can live in an old house and keep it looking neat and picked up that is fine, but why should we have to live in a community that looks like crap?

Think about this!!!!
Person A buys a nice house in nice community, lives there for, say, 5 years. Person B buys nice house next door. Person B lets house go to sh#t. Person A looks out window and sees sh#t all the time. Person B looks out window and sees person A's nice house all the time, is that fair to person A? I do not think so, and I bet every one that appreciates life and their property would agree with me.
We need some one to control the crap that piles up outside people's homes. This means keeping the properties up also.

I also think Sheriff Mark is going in the right direction.

soooo if he does not get a job is that breaking his probation? Is there a time limt? Not many employers hiring? Oh and may be prison is not a bad place to live, for some people it is probably a great place, good food, tv, bed, no rent, you get my drift. Why should he obey the law?

I just can't believe it, all the negative response. This must be why we are where we are...nowhere!!!!! Everyone wants to sit back and do nothing and go nowhere. What Albert Lea needs is to build for the future, spend money and build to suit expansion. Make room for new business. North Bridge is a mess and needs serious improvement. Did you ever think if we stick some money into this we will not have to drive all the way around town to get somewhere. Seems pretty stupid to me if a straight line from point A to point B why do we go from point A to I-35 to I-90 to point B, its because no wants to drive in that cluster. Ask anyone with some wealth they will tell you they did not get rich by sitting on their money, you need to invest in something to get any return. I think it is time for Albert Lea to pull out their wallets and start investing in our future. I wish Owatonna was wishing they were Albert Lea instead of us wishing we were Owatonna with all of their growth.
