mollybee52; I am very sorry if my comments were taken in a way in which I did not intend for them to be. I had a similar situation with a family member and in stating some things about this I meant no disrespect or insult to your family and I should of worded it more carefully so it would not of been taken wrong as it has been. Please accept my apology as it was not my intent to insult anyone. You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Mother.

OldTrogen; Thank you for your comments. At least your one of the ones posting here who sound sane. There are other posts here also that I have read and thought about that are making statements on both sides. I have read each one and have considered the comments. It is the ones making untrue assumptions and comments that I disrespect and disregard. Yours I can respect.

lauss1970; How is my stating what I would do if my family member was in this situation translate into this family being blamed? I wrote what I did because I had an experience myself where a family member was ill and needed to go to the hospital and instead of waiting for the Nursing home staff to get the order, I gave the order myself to send them in... A family member can do this and get quicker results without waiting for a fax to come back. My comment was not about this family..it was about me and what I would do. Also according to your post I precieved you were calling me a whore...for what..having an opinion? Then you said I was upset at Good Sam and that I wrote they give other nursing homes a bad name..when what I wrote was that it was too bad that the actions "of a few" have tainted other nursing homes. This included Good Sam being tainted by "a few." Then you accuse me of posting under another user name to make some additional comments which is also untrue. Then you go on to write insinuations that I was a caregiver of this woman some how, when in fact I don't even know her and have never seen her. You wrote that if you were me you would stop posting because every time I open my mouth I make it worse. What do you think your ranting, raving, swearing, name calling and untrue statements make you look like? You seem like a bully on a school yard threatening to beat someone up if they like someone that you don't approve of. I have good things to say about all of our local nursing homes. I know workers in all of them and have had family members in each of them. So does this make you mad if I say something nice about any of them? Would it make you feel better if I agreed with your untrue statements, swearing and name calling?

There were no negative comments made toward the family. Read carefully before you make a comment. Again, as I stated before, I was stating what I would personally do as a friend or family member. The information I am getting is information I am reading from the tribune here. I represent no one but my own opinions and you seem to think that you are the only one who has a right to one. I think if the wind would change a bit the flies may be in your own direction for being so sure that you are the only one with the right to an opinion. The tribune has relayed what information they recieved and I am going by that information like every one else here who knows how to read. Does that mean I was there and thats why I have the info? I got the info from what I have read here. I do not know the woman who the article is about even, would not recognized her if I saw a dozen pictures of her.

I was not shifting fault to anyone. I stated what I would do in a situation as a friend or family member. It is my own personal opinion.

The article stated it was 12 hours..the family member posting said it was 11 hours or more, I am going by the info posted here. The family does have my sympathy as well.

If I had a family member in that distress I would not wait over eleven hours for the nursing staff to send them in. I would insist they do it right away. If they were in that distress I would not leave their bedside for a minuet until I felt that proper healthcare was administered to them.

Thornecrest is a very good facility. No place can claim a 100% perfection rate. I remember my Dad laying in the ER room at a very well known and highly rated hospital having a stroke that was not addressed, although they were looking at and attending to other things with him. From the article I read here it sounds like the staff at Thornecrest was at least making some sort of effort.
