allake - then why hasn't Albert Lea gotten any more industry in town? Or business of any kind? Our town is suffering.......badly. We have an opportunity to bring in a VA Hospital but I am very sure that the Great City of AL will mess it up somehow. The hospital will bring in some more revenue. Albert Lea can hardly hang on to the businesses it has - that have been here for years (for instance.....Mrs Gerry's) No wonder we have all moved.....we gave up. My family had been in AL for decades....not anymore and I don't look back.

I for one would love to shop and eat in Albert Lea, but I don't and won't because there isn't really anything here that I can support. We do eat out once a every two weeks in Albert Lea. We do our shopping else where (Mason City or Rochester) it's sad to say but there is more to shop at there. I want to support the area here in town but I choose not to because there is no selection. By the way, when I was little in the early 80's we would go downtown, eat lunch, shop and meet family at least once a week. I sure wish that we could get that back. At that time there were stores to stop and shop at. Some of us in my family were thinking it would be GREAT if the VA opened here, but then one member stated that the City would do something to screw it up. And sadly, it's probably very TRUE. (- we would get in more shopping stores, eating places, more fun things to do.)

I was part of the 80/90's are too and let me tell you, we had a great time in high school. The floats, the bonfire, the TPing of the football teams home. It was all "good" fun and I don't think the kids of today even realize what they are missing. I sure hope the student council tries to bring this back.

I agree with the comments displayed. There is absolutely no reason for those women to do what they did to the resident's living at Good Sam. Likewise, there is absolutely no reason for their names to be withheld! I suppose "those in charge" do not want retaliation but let's face it, "We the People" deserve to know so that they are not working with our children or other elderly in the community.
