This "group" from Chicago must be ACORN, all thugs, crooks and any other derogatory word one can think of. We MUST know how many people here are ILLEGAL. When we don't know that, money gets appropriated for them, and Congress gets more representatives, "to represent them"!!!!!? I live in Southern California, 80 miles from the Mexico border. They have ruined our state. The schools are full of "English learners" who get very low scores on the standard tests. They get free breakfasts and lunches at school, and use our ER's for free health care. I am now in the minority in my area. Everyone speaks Spanish and even our adds now come only in Spanish.
When I go shopping, anywhere, Costco, Sears, etc., the clerks all speak Spanish AND the customers pull out big wads of CASH. They have their own underground system, use all our free services (education, health care, and welfare) and yet seem to have plenty of money to spend. They seem to be the only ones shopping anymore! And, the "anchor" babies has to stop. I think we are the only country that allows that. I have been wondering what to do about the 2010 Census. I have already seen them coming around counting the number of "doors" at each residence. I understand that all kinds of questions will be asked about EVERYTHING. Maybe refuse, but then we won't be counted. I am an AMERICAN and our Country is in BIG TROUBLE and I am WORRIED SICK about it!

Obama scares me greatly, as does his ANGRY wife. Cindy McCain is a very GOOD person, look up all the wonderful things she has done with her money. I could care less about what color someone is and would have voted for C. Powell or C. Rice in a minute. I am not happy at all with Bush, but not because of the war, but his position on Mexico and Illegals. Also the fact that he hasn't pardoned those two Border Patrol Agents that are in Prison for doing their job, FOR US! He seems to be in "the pocket" of the Mexican Government.
I think who McCain picks for V.P. will be very important as I don't see him finishing one term as President. That biopsy he had over a week ago has not been reported to us as benign, or anything. Positive results take longer as they have to determine the stage, etc. The kind of skin cancer he has had is the 2nd most deadly form of cancer and never cured, although they do have a vaccine for it now, but I'm not sure how that works once you already have had the cancer.
Please note who is still in the "House" without their Democratic counterparts and "Leader", while we have serious problems to resolve like drilling for oil off shore and in Alaska. Also, the Democrats have been in control of the House and Senate for the last Bush term, so nothing has been done, and we are paying them to do nothing. I agree, both Parties are corrupt but there are still some good ones up their. You want to see what a Social Government will result in, look at California. It is run by extreme Left Wing elected people. Our Governor tried to pass 4 very important and logical propositions to "fix" some very important things, but was shot down by the Unions, the Democrats, the "Hollywood Clan", and other questionable money organizations, who filled the radio and TV with outright lies.
The opinion of a (I'm not sure if FBI or CIA Profiler) in Iraq, says that with Obama's past history, he would not obtain clearance from our Government to work in Iraq, and he may be our next Commander In Chief????? Very Scary!!!
I wish we had a better choice. Have you listened to Obama speak "off the cuff"? He is worse than Bush and I didn't think that was possible!

I hope we have a Presidential Candidate who is opposed to Amnesty and for STRONG BORDER CONTROL to vote for! I live in Southern California and believe me, you can tell the difference between the Mexican Americans and the Illegal Mexicans! I have many Mexican American friends of whom a lot are bilingual and they are opposed to this Illegal Immigration as much or even more than I am. It is costing us an unbelievable amount of money. It is ruining our Education System, our Medical System and and our Economy. They have their own underground economy, deal in cash, move multiple families into a house and ruin neighborhoods. They get special education benefits, medical treatment and are filling up our prisons. They are participating in Gangs who commit horrific crimes. I could go on and on, I doubt if you have seen anything yet. Our feeling is that we have already lost OUR part of the Country. Remember this in November. It will matter for us and our future generations a great deal. California is known as a Liberal State, but all the Liberals come from the Large Coastal cities, (Los Angeles and San Fransisco and now the Imperial County which is on the Mexican Border) These are also Sanctuary cities who protect Illegal Immigrants, don't deport them and leave them here to murder US Citizens, as recently happened in San Fransisco, a tragic event. All we have to do is enforce EXISTING LAWS and build that fence. We can have a system to bring TEMPORARY WORKERS in for certain kinds of work, but leave the families in Mexico and return the worker when the job is completed. There will be more jobs for those collecting welfare and we can reduce that.

Hey, I remember you! I am an 1959 ALHS Graduate and was a Cheerleader in 1958 and 1959, and President of the Pep Club. You and I arranged to have a wrestling meet in the Auditorium with the entire school attending so they could learn all about the rules of the game. After that, we had excellent attendance at all the meets. Do you remember that? I have thought of you often as I had great respect for you. My name then was Karen "Cookie" Bates. I have lived in California since 1962 and worked for Kaiser Permanente Medical Program for 35 years as Director of Diagnostic Imaging so I did good, and credit some of it to the education I got in Albert Lea. I attended St. Cloud University and the St. Cloud Hospital. My son was invited to try out for the 1984 U.S. Soccer Team as Goalie, but during his quarter of trial, not one shot was made on goal. My daughter was an accomplished Gymnast and Coached for 16 years and now her daughter is a very good Gymnast being coached by two male Olympic Gymnasts. I know that ALHS has done well in wrestling over the years and I have always credited that success to you! I hope you remember me but it has been a long time! Next year will be our 50th class reunion. You should come, I would love to see you!

AMEN! I have called my Congresswomen, and Representative, who are all Democrats and disagree with my opinion, but we must do it. I have also called the White House and someone actually answers the phone and you talk with a real person! Very impressed! And please don't forget our two Border Patrol Agents who remain in prison for 10 and 12 years for doing what they are supposed to do. Call the White House and demand a full Pardon for them, I have and so have thousands of other Americans. Take our Country back before it is too late.

Regarding the CA Schools, I failed to mention that only 18.5% of the students in the 7th grade passed the Physical Fitness CA Standards test. Picture that! My Grandkids that I am referring to will be in the 4th and 7th grade. They have been in a Private Christian School since the beginning with classrooms of about 20. I am not blaming the schools or the teachers, just the Illegal Immigrants who don't speak English! At the Public School I refer to, there are 83.17% Hispanic, 11.37% White, 4% African American (who scored very high),and 37% of the TOTAL school are English learners. Also, 51% are Socioeconomically Disadvantaged and 12% with Disabilities. If you go up the hill from us to another Junior High School the numbers are much higher, and 80% passed the Physical Physical Fitness Test. The test scores I looked at were National Averages as I know that CA schools are much lower than some other States. 5% of the English Learners met the National Average in Reading and 10% in Math. My Grandkids took the K12 "Virtual" school test and did pretty good. They will be placed in programs tied to their testing results. They may be a higher level in math and lower in reading for example. They will advance to more difficult levels as they learn. They have immediate access to their teacher(s). They go to a central area for tests. They will not be exposed to kids who don't respect the schools, teachers, parents or even themselves. They won't be exposed to vulgarity that is rampart in our public schools, even existed in the Christian School. The boy is on a excellent Ice Hockey team and the girl is in gymnastics. They get tons of exercise and socialization with kids their parents have control over. LEGAL IMMIGRATION made this Nation GREAT, not ILLEGAL. Come to one of the Border States and see what it is like! If we need workers, we have the ability to have them come on a TEMPORARY basis to work, leave family in Mexico and then return when the work has been finished. They are turning our Country into a third world nation. No Child Left Behind is a joke as Parents are suppose to be able to pick the school they want their child to attend if the school is in a Title 1 Status, but in fact they cannot because of capacity. Would you send your kid to a school that scored 2 in a 1 to 10, 10 being best? You're right, all subgroups are "failing" in some schools in CA. It is infectious, just wait, you'll see it too, sadly.

I am a product of the Albert Lea School System, and always bragged about how much better education was in Minnesota than in CA. I was shocked to see that your schools did not meet the standards for "No Child Left Behind". When looking at the school report card in CA (available on-line) it is clear where the biggest problem is. Most of our students (87%) are from illegal immigrants who have a much different attitude regarding education and speaking English. I had no idea that you also have this problem, though probably not as bad YET. In California it costs $15,000/student/ year,$12,000/year for"Virtual" School. Until we "STOP THE INVASION", "No Child Left Behind: will not work. Lets hope that the "Virtual School" works, (child uses a computer at home and the State provides teachers). You can learn about it by doing a Google Search for K12, or Virtual Schools. It is available in most states. It is an alternative to sending your child to a Title 1 school and is paid for by the State.

The "Cash for Clunkers" money is being borrowed from our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Borrowed from those who haven't even been born yet. Is that fair? Also, perfectly good cars are being destroyed, good transportation cars that a lot of people could use now, and the junk yards don't even want the "junk" car. Are these going to fill up our land fills, or be shipped to China at our expense? This is a STUPID program, not a successful program. The problem with the car being destroyed before it is approved is also a BIG problem.
