Tulip.... actually the street is not a high traffic road, the kids are high school age and have been friends all of their lives. This is not a new scenario, they have been doing this for years. They are good kids. I'm not too convinced there has been any damage, but just a fear of something happening. I'm sure had anything been damaged there would be an apology and they would make it right.
BadBoy... You are over the edge.

Just as the kids have every right to play in the street.

No one is not leaving Mr. Mammel alone. If his health problems are a concern for him, he can choose to not read the responses his letter has created.
I will say though, Tulip you are very wise. I do hope resolution can come. I think it would have come a lot easier had he not involved the police and the public.

Tulip, don't worry, the attention seems to have gotten off of the subject itself and attacks are aimed at me now, however Mr. Mammel threw this issue out into the public and made it open for discussion.

You can disagree with me all you want. We each have our own viewpoints and I am sticking with mine.
You might just be the BadBoy as your user name indicates, who wants to argue... You might just be Rick Mammel himself. You are obviously only out to pick apart every word I have said. It seems to be your means of operating, as indicated by your prior posts.
This particular issue was brought to my attention by someone involved. I am voicing my thoughts on the issue.
Who said I haven't prayed for resolution? I have.

Not a Christian hypocrite but slightly in the know about this situation and those it involves.
Mr. Mammel hasn't done something he didn't mean to do by error of judgement or as a mistake, as those I previously asked for people to have mercy on.
I am not crucifying Mr. Mammel, yet suggesting that no one will take him seriously with an extreme letter as he wrote. I don't see this current letter trying to resolve the situation with his neighbors and I am of the point of view that it might be helpful to bring that to his attention.
I believe it is pretty typical for kids to both play in the street and for people to walk across people's yards. I think Mr. Mammel is being extreme in this situation.
His first letter ranted about guns and being ready to stand his ground in a physical confrontation. These kids don't want that, in fact they are the kids of the very neighbors who have befriended him in his time of need.
Publicly airing his dispute only enflamed the situation. I don't see him attempting to rectify that with his neighbors but to save face with the readers of the Tribune.

It doesn't exactly sound as if the kids are "trespassers". They are playing ball in the street. If he absolutely needs to keep people out of his yard he should erect a fence or move to the country. People in neighborhoods walk across yards every second of every day.
and BadBoy, I don't know where you are coming from using my quote in this format.

Mr. Mammel... Your previous letter was so whacked out that no one could take you seriously. To blame your lack of clarification on a title change doesn't cut it.
Kids play in the streets. Always have and if the street is not a busy through way and the kids are not inside eating chips and playing video games, probably always will.
I did not read of any other neighbor complaints against these group of kids which leads me to believe something else is eating at you or you plain don't like the kids.
It appears as if you've let off a bomb in your neighborhood and the damage seems to be done. If the balls have not yet come through your windows, it might be a good time to stop living in fear and make peace with your neighbors.

I thought I saw it was 9 bucks. Could be wrong.
I think Friday night should be something other than Country.
My choice of favorite thing about the fair is not listed. It is the greatest social event of the year. It seems everyone turns out and it is great to see people you only see this time of year.
