ALHS Students have been able to letter in many non athletic competitive activities years before NCLB. You still can't letter in just "everything" but you can in any activity that requires just as much, if not more, time, dedication, practice and talent than a Varsity sport. The academic letter has been around for at least 7 plus years that I know for sure. That is a great reward for students that can achieve high academics.

I can't wait to for the day someone doesn't gripe about the polls, stories or columns. That will be a a sweet day. I hope all of you negative commenters thinks this is a way to be a productive, active citizen, because it's not.

Everyone needs to lay off a little. These are polls to find out what percentage of our community thinks what, then allows our community to discuss with each other about it. The Tribune doesn't have to have any input on the poll results.
It's a new week and a new big event has begun, the NCAA tournament. This is just another unrecorded poll that the Tribune has chosen to put on the site. However, just to keep to the norm of most of the comments, you might as well start judging the Tribune for liking basketball or predicting NDSU to win it all. It all sounds like nonsense to me.

Valpo may have been in the Mid-Continent Conference in 1998 but have not been in the conference since it has been changed to the Summit League. Valpo is now in the Horizon League.

You show your level of maturity by using words like "retarded" and "nazi" in regards to the editor. The Tribune staff has no obligation to respond to any comments we make on here, especially yours. I would assume they have more important things to do while working. No "legitimate reason" for anything is necessary to you.

I am "unarmed?" What type of defense do I need when it comes to you? You used to word "retarded" in your defense. I don't think a person of your "wits" can hold your own in serious discussions.
You used the word retard in a public online forum for all of your community to see. Just think about the impression that leaves people.

Look at the word you both used in your opening sentences, "idiot." Right off the bat both of you sound immature and incompetent of commenting on any store the Tribune prints.
I don't have any personal connection to this story nor do I care about the contents of this story. Justice will be served without me being involved. However, you two are great examples as to why this public forum gets out of control and hardly ever sticks to the topic at hand.
As a community we should listen to one another and understand there are differences between all of us. This is what makes Albert Lea great, the diversity. We will all disagree, but the Albert Lea Tribune isn't the place to let every negative frustration you have out through a keyboard. This goes to everyone.
