I'm happy to be playing hostess this year to my brothers and their families, although in my little house on the prairie it gets a little cramped! Always good times.

Sure but I still stand by my earlier one season wonder mantra the Vikes live by, he's our leader, but for how long?

BGB I agree with your post to a point. I have seen some really ridiculous status messages on facebook, but sometimes even ridiculous ones can be good conversation starters. "Just got back from aerobics" is a good example. If you have a facebook friend that lives in your area, you could potentially gain a workout partner - or at the very least some of your faraway friends can give you encouraging words to stick with it if your motivation is lacking. "Making such-and-such dish for dinner" - Well, what recipe do you use... things of that nature. "Taking a nap" is a useful one for some people that are on all the time and are known for returning messages right away, here is the reason I'm not getting back to you. It all depends on the person and their habits. But you are very right, some things most people, even friends, don't need to know.

The war on drugs has always been a joke. Countless amounts of time and money for little gain, and so many people behind bars for, in my opinion, no good reason, victimless crimes, as it were.

Believe me, no matter what kind of rules and restrictions you put on manufacturing, selling and using, people will find a way. They always do.

I always wondered why Economics was never a requirement in my own high school. Believe me, a class on credit cards would have saved me money! I learned a very expensive lesson in college, where there was a credit card vendor booth set up in practically every corner.

When are we going to get back to having a franchise quarterback like Tarkenton? That position hasn't been notable since then, we're never going to create another Tarkenton or even a Manning, or a Brady, or an Elway, etc. if we keep going with the same mantra of pick up the official old guy of the league for a one-season wonder and then start back at square one again the next year. I was all ready to get on the Sage-train this year, he looked great on Friday. If Favre can do well, fantastic, I'll cheer for him. I think he's a great quarterback, but the Vikings need to take a seriously hard look at how they're managing that spot. More of the same is not the way to win championships. The Vikes need to realize that to create those career QBs we need to invest in young talent at that position (but pick up talent worthy of investing in, rather than the likes of T-Jack). Our defense is stellar, our special teams have improved and our offensive line is at least looking better. We have great scoring weapons, now let's do what we should have done long ago and create a quarterback, rather than picking up everyone else's castoffs.
