Can anyone tell us how many "Small Business" owners in Albert Lea take home, after taxes, $233,000 a year? In a small business there can be 1-250 people employed. I feel most small business are just making it, but of course they are "told" to say they are doing "great". When I say "just making it" I mean just that. If you are a business owner tell us the truth, do you take home $233,000 a year. You don't have to tell us your business, I just want to know if that amount is really true. I can think of only about 5 that might be in that area in Albert Lea.

What expenses does Albert Lea charge small businesses when they open in Albert Lea? Or extra taxes?

How many of you have or know of someone that has lost their jobs or hours have been cut because of the economy? I know of a man that his hours were cut 10 hours per week. And they think they should get a raise. How many of you will be getting a raise?

I agreed with your message. Why should they get a break when all of us are hurting trying to make ends meet.

I can't wait for you to put your ideas on the table and see some action taking place. Behind you 100%. (You know I always liked you best. Can you guess, Larry, who I am?)

I believe that all of the "sponsors" do the work for free. They are not paid for any of their work time or materials used. When you brought up, blueyze, the "sponsors list was short" how many of the shops in town can really afford to give this "amount" away - FREE. Maybe some have done well, meaning they are "rich", but most shop owners are making it day by day like everyone else. It would be like asking each of us, not owners, to give like $1,500, or some other amount, FREE to a family. It would be hard to do for any of us. But these sponsors are really doing it, sure they will get there name out there, but their names are out there already. Just because it will be on TV will not pull customers from across the United States to their shops. They are doing it from their hearts like the rest of us should be. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have them knock on my door, but my house is fine, not the biggest, not the expensive one on my block (I don't think we have an expensive one on our block at all), but I call it home. I am excited that they are coming here to help a family. I do wish they could come into an area and help several familes, but there again how can the sponsors aford doing that. If I am wrong on my thoughts let me know.

After reading this, I feel that Albert Lea should test the lakes like this group did. So we know what is in the lake. Will we get sick if we injest the water? Should we stop water skiing and swimming in the lake? This needs to be checked right away. I hope the news paper starts asking questions NOW to find this out. Do not stop asking questions until we have an answer.
