Hockey players are THE TOUGHEST athlete's there are. the pace of the game makes sure they are aerobically fit and the physicality of the game takes its toll. hockey doesn't get the mainstream coverage of other sports or maybe it would be more popular, other than in a select group of states. Also Pierre, since this question was asked by the A.L. Tribune, that would mean we are in this state.

hey pierre,

where are the red sox now. where will the yankee's be after their series with the angels?? granted the angels have a pretty decent payroll but so did detroit. the yankee's haven't won the world series for quite some time by their standards. the twins had a great season and we should all be glad but they hit better than the yankee's in the series, just not the longball, and is it any wonder with all of your players tired from playing playoff baseball for a month before the season ended compared to the yankee's resting guys. Also, morneau wasn't even playing for the last month. i am very proud of the twins season and felt that they had just as good a shot at the yankee's as the yankee's did at the twins. again, i think that gardy should be manager of the year but will surely get overlooked for girardi because of america's infatuation with the yankee's. Keep it up twins, and go Angels.

kaal had a service announcement a few days ago saying that they were changing their signal location and to call the station if you are affected by it and they would help you out by telling you where you need to point your antenna.

i look at it that you can have police force that can afford to put up billboards about teen drinking parties which has seem to become the main focus and yet major crime still happens. why not put up billboards saying if your carrying a sword downtown you'll be arrested, or if you are going to murder someone with a hammer you will be arrested. my point being that it cost money for these billboards and they don't need to be spending money on advertising what crime they plan on stopping. skip the billboards and go about your business. Another thing is all the money that is spent on this safe and sober campaign. why do i need to here commercials all the time. just have the campaign, word will spread, save the ad money to cover other shortfalls.

i just wonder how no one saw this coming. the city has no problem spending money. we got a new high school, we got a new government center, sure it was a county thing but we are in the county, we have a remodeled library. All within the last few years. I realize this is stuff that benefits the city, but then it needs to fit in the budget, and if it doesn't, jobs get lost and now a library we spent how much money on will possibly be closed a couple days a week. all we keep hearing about is how we need to do this and that in this town, but how does it get paid for. I am all for improving this town and trying to draw in new employers but so is every other town in the nation. we need to look at what is truely practical to set our selves apart from other places and i think in this day and age it starts with modest spending so that when times are tough we are prepared, not slashing like eveyone else or hoping that we get a state grant to fund us to keep people employed.

while part of me is happy to see the vikings are trying to do what they can to improve the team for this year, i think that it is a bad move. farve throws more interceptions than anybody. he is well beyond his prime. a person can look back and say that joe montana should have retired a 49er and the same will be said about brett someday, he should have retired a packer. i hope i am wrong and he leads us deep into the playoffs, but the reality is he probably won't.
