Old Trojan You have made some sense in the past but this time you are just blowing smoke. You just plain do not want to say who you are voting for. That is ok but then why bring it up? Like the old saying is, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings." People should look at the issues and leave Bush out of it. (he will be in the past) It is congress that is supposed to make all the rules. Look at whom we have in congress. Yes I have heard all the complaining about Bill Gates and the rich, well off your a@@ and onto your feet everyone if you do not like it. Fight to make changes within each issue you dislike. Write your congressman. Climb the ladder finding the facts, and do not say "I can't" because everyone can make their voice heard if they try. Think carefully over each issue and pray about it. Now you are saying who am I voting for? I am not afraid to speak up, it will be McCain. Is McCain the perfect canidate? Not by a long shot, but at this time it is the best we have.

It is not fair at all for only two to be charged as adults. If all four were old enough and supposedly responsible enough to attain a job then they are responsible enough to be held accountable for their actions. It does sound to me like Mr. Nelson's friends are one of the younger girl’s families. I really feel for him, I wonder if these girls ever thought that it would be more than the victims, the victim's family and their own family that they would disappoint and disillusion. Mr. Nelson needs to step aside totally to be fair, we all can see that.

JL673 What they did admit to was enough. It is sick, just sick. It appears in your mind you can justify what was done because some of it was confirmed by other girls making it hearsay in your opinion. We all know what opinions are like.
"Speakup" I am tending to agree with you in one of your posts.

Jl673 They are true. Did you not read the state report?

JL673 you might be neither a defendant nor a moron; but your comments do show your age and that you would show no remorse for those disgusting acts. I am not to group the girls together? Yet you group all of the people who responded together.

JL673 you are right there are more that need to be held accountable. These girls knew what each was doing and you know yourself that no one admits completely the bad things they do, so it is most likely much worse than we have read. That is not an assumption that is human nature. How very unfortunate that these children/adults did not grasp compassion for the elderly. I am sure these parents are heartbroken and my sympathy is with the rest of the family who has to live it down. "Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head and honor the face of the old man." I am wondering if any of these girls were taught that.

To the Albert Lea Tribune editors and staff. How noble of your to "decide" if and when these names should be in print and what poor journalism. These names should be in the paper. This is not a case of innocent until proven guilty. These girls admitted to being guilty of abuse. No one needs to be reminded that spitting in a helpless individuals mouth, humping them or any of the other things they admitted doing is wrong. How shameful of our society to think otherwise. Journalism is not there to protect the guilty but to write about the facts. You had to have read the facts in the state report. How shameful of you to allow the memory of these elderly people and what they went through be hidden under the guise of "if charges are brought against them." Sadder still would be if charges are NOT brought against them.

Stickfigure, I do not blame the doctors for the actions of the girls, only for the actions that lead up to why these adults are vulnerable. I would be willing to place a bet that every one of those patients were on a mood altering drug. I am in agreement that this is abuse of the worse kind. If I were vindictive I would suggest these girls be made to take care of jail inmates on a wing with sex deviants and see what verbal and sexual abuse is all about. This was not funny, a joke or anything close to that. My comment about doctors being at blame for some of the situation is based on my experience with the medical profession and nursing home staff in other locations. In all three homes that I have dealt with you sign forms saying that your loved one can live there and have their own furniture if they wish, as well as keep as normal of life as they had at home. Then the changes start in the patient’s life such as moving them from table to table so that either it is every other gender or all males or some such system which confuses the elderly. Then they insist that the person play games or activities, no invitation to do so but a demand. They insist that baths and meals be done on their time (and don’t get me wrong it’s not only their right but convenient and prudent to do so) When the elderly complain because of change or about their rights, the home says that they are “being difficult.” Some staff complain constantly and never consider the feelings of the elderly patient. The doctor gets the complaints and even in some cases the nurses ask the doctor to recommend meds. Alzheimer’s is the diagnosis and routinely the types of drugs used for that have serious side effects. Many of these meds cause the elderly to become more forgetful and combative. No one considers that behavior as a side effect. I’ve seen it over and over again with our family members as well as other people. Way too many patients are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. These medications are so serious that you have to wean a patient off of them or they can die. Once we started believing the things our loved one told us, and observed the goings on and asked tons of questions we got our loved one off meds. It was the right thing to do for our father, but we had a terrible time of doing it. After all we went through; only one doctor stepped forward and said you are right about this.

I think it is going to be one of the biggest cover up jobs we have ever seen. We will be told there just is not enough to convict these girls who have no morals or remorse. It is very sad indeed.
On Good Sam charges expected now in mid-November
