Jerico Wells, 9, gets a smooch or two from Nala the camel, one of the stars of Hayward’s live nativity. It was part of the town Christmas celebration Saturday. Live animals were a part of the event. Mary and Joseph brought in a donkey, while the three wise men brought the camel to the scene. Children were allowed to pet the animals.
