Sundogs hang low in the afternoon sky in Albert Lea Thursday. This phenomenon occurs when atmospheric conditions allow sunlight to be refracted by high-level hexagonal ice crystals, producing these &uot;mini-suns&uot; on either side of the sun. Temperatures dipped to -11 in Albert Lea.
