He’d rolled a 300 game before – although not sanctioned – and he’s got plenty of time to do it again.

Barrett is an Albert Lea High School student who’s been bowling for only seven years. His run at 300 happened earlier this month during the Family League at Holiday Lanes.

&uot;I was nervous, but confident,&uot; said Barrett. &uot;It helped that I’d already had a 300 game.&uot;

The 299 was by far his best sanctioned score, however, topping his previous high of 268. Barrett bowls in three leagues and has a current average of 203.

Barrett, who works at Holiday Lanes, is a scratch-handicap bowler and a member of the ALHS bowling team. He said he’s proud of the fact he can average higher than guys two or three times his age.

According to Holiday Lanes Youth Director Loren Kaiser, Barrett will earn a ring for his 299 game.
