AUSTIN – After ideal conditions in the season opener Friday, the Albert Lea High School girls’ golf team experienced the other end of the weather spectrum Monday.

AUSTIN – After ideal conditions in the season opener Friday, the Albert Lea High School girls’ golf team experienced the other end of the weather spectrum Monday.
The Tigers played despite cold, rain and wind and lost a nine-hole match at Austin. The Packers had 204 strokes, Albert Lea 223.
&uot;It was very, very difficult to play, to get a sense of feeling for the club and where it was going,&uot; said ALHS coach Jason Bakke.
Shawna Mummert had the best day for the Tigers, shooting a 54. She was followed closely by Brie Woitas at 55 and Kari Nelson at 56. Amie Hartman and Steph Williams both shot 58. Laura Linnes had a 61.
Catie Rebelein led the Tigers’ junior varsity, shooting a 59. Angie Wagner had a 61, Jackie Montag 63.
The ALHS girls are off until Friday, when they travel to the New Prague Invitational.
