The Tigers hosted a strong Austin team and lost 9-1 and 16-0 in a Big Nine doubleheader at Hammer Field.

&uot;Austin is a good team,&uot; said Tigers coach Sherrie Gayken. &uot;But I know we’re a better ball team than we showed tonight.

&uot;When we hit the ball better, our defense gets better.&uot;

The Tigers had one hit in the opener, an RBI single by Jerri Mondeel

Laura Olson and Amy Madsen hit safely in the second game.

The Tigers, 4-14 overall and 2-13 in the conference, finish the regular season Saturday with a 10 a.m. doubleheader at Rochester Century.
