Minnesota Attorney General Mike Hatch highlighted the evening by thanking Wangen on behalf of the state. He said public servants like Wangen make life in Minnesota better for all citizens.
&uot;I can’t think of anything more of a tribute to Albert Lea than someone the caliber of Marv Wangen,&uot; Hatch said.
Current mayor Bob Haukoos described Wangen as &uot;a notable combination of seniority and service&uot; and gave him a key to the city.
Wangen said serving 15 years on the city council and 10 years as mayor gave him a chance to work with many people to solve problems and plan for the city’s future.
