FARIBAULT – Co-coach Duey Ferber didn’t have much to say about the performance of the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ track and field team.
He didn’t need to. It spoke for itself.
The Panthers were dominant, winning 15 of 18 events at the Faribault Academies Invitational Tuesday. NRHEG won with 139.5 points. Alden-Conger had 47, Faribault Academies 42, Minnesota Academy for the Deaf 20.5.
&uot;The weather was treacherous at times, but it was extremely nice at the finish,&uot; said Ferber.
Among the many winners was sophomore Kelsie Hansen, who edged teammate Kalisha Anthony for first in the 100-meter hurdles in a school-record 16.9 seconds. Anthony was second in 17.1; she won the pole vault. Hansen also won the 300 hurdles.
Camille Kyte won the 100, 200 and 400 and was fourth in the triple jump.
The other individual wins were by Nicole Lonning, shot put; Jenifer Brouwers, discus; Michel Maurer, 800; and Emily Kofstad, long jump.
Jessica Brouwers, April Bayerkohler, Melissa Maurer and Michel Maurer won the 4×800 relay. Kofstad, Anthony, Ellen Johnson and Jen Brouwers won the 4×200. Kofstad, Anthony, Johnson and Michelle Dobberstein took the 4×100. Jessica Brouwers, Alicia Kaplan, Amber Sommers and Sarah Kyte were first in the 4×400.
