The Mankato-Area Lancers cleaned up at the second-annual Festival of Bands in downtown Albert Lea Sunday as 22 bands provided more than four hours of entertainment for a crowds lining the streets.

The Mankato-Area Lancers cleaned up at the second-annual Festival of Bands in downtown Albert Lea Sunday as 22 bands provided more than four hours of entertainment for a crowds lining the streets.

Crowds started lining up along Broadway in the early afternoon and swelled to as much as six rows deep near the judge’s stand at Broadway and Main. The festival got underway when the host Albert Lea Marching Tigers took to the street around 2 p.m. As the host band, the Tigers did not compete.
