It turned out good only for the home team.

The Rebels were overpowering, shutting out NRHEG 28-0 in a Gopher Valley Conference game.

&uot;I think our offensive and defensive lines pretty much dominated the game,&uot; said Rebels coach Brent Schimek, whose team improved to 4-1 while the Panthers dropped to 1-4.

The Rebels had two 100-yard rushers for the second week in a row, with Noel Johnson totaling 180 and Jon Beyer 110. Johnson had a pair of big runs, a 58-yarder to spark the Rebels to a touchdown on their opening drive and an 82-yarder in the second quarter.

The Panthers were held to 35 yards rushing and 103 total yards. They did not get inside the red zone.

Trent Ulrich led the USC defense with six tackles and 1.5 sacks. Trevor Haugh and Chance Kimpton each had five tackles.

&uot;We controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,&uot; said Schimek. &uot;We wanted to get off to a good start after a slow start last week and, with it being only our second home game, we wanted to make a strong showing.&uot;

Both teams have their homecoming game this Friday.
