It’s a good thing they brought a large contingent. They had a lot of awards to haul home. The locals continued their tradition of excellence in all three divisions – folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman – and it was again reflected in their postseason honors.

Three Albert Leans were among 15 Minnesota wrestlers to earn the Triple Crown Award, which is the most prestigious honor for the Minnesota/USA youth division. They were Cory Hansen at 55 pounds, Connor Kortan at 60 and Carter Kortan at 65. All wrestle in the Bantam division. Cory and Carter also received awards for the most falls in the least time in their age division at state tournaments.
