According to general manager Jason Fornwald, the Albert Lea Blades had a nice turnout for their weekend series against the Cedar Falls Banana Slugs at the City Arena.

According to general manager Jason Fornwald, the Albert Lea Blades had a nice turnout for their weekend series against the Cedar Falls Banana Slugs at the City Arena.
They gave the fans plenty to cheer about.
The Blades remained unbeaten in league play at 4-0 and improved to 6-1 overall with a pair of one-sided wins, 11-2 Saturday night and 9-1 Sunday.
&uot;Defensively, we played real well in both games,&uot; said Fornwald, who did not allow a goal while sharing goaltending duties with Josh Heilman in the first game.
Travis Brua scored three goals. Fornwald estimated the shots on goal at 50-20 in favor of the Blades.
Mike Nelson scored four goals Sunday. Fornwald played the whole game in goal for Albert Lea.
The Blades have another home series this weekend, taking on the Waterloo Gryphons at 9:30 Saturday night and at 10 a.m. Sunday at the City Arena.
