Junior Johnson prepares his pole for ice fishing Wednesday afternoon on Albert Lea Lake. The ice was three inches thick. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recommends a minimum ice thickness of four inches for travel on foot, five inches for snowmobiles and ATVs and eight to 12 inches for cars or small trucks.
