New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate, but it’s also at time to take great care if your celebration includes alcohol. No occasion is an excuse to drink and drive, and a little planning can ensure that you’ve got a safe ride home when the party’s over.

Free cab rides available from Joe T. Taxi have transported hundreds of people over the New Year for the last five years, and they’re available again this year; for people attending celebrations at five popular locations – Andy’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill, the Eagles Club, the Elks Club, the Moose Club and the Nite Out Lounge – a ride is as easy as hopping in a free cab. These establishments should be credited with responsible thinking for agreeing to pay for the service.

If the free taxi isn’t available to you, it’s important to choose a designated driver or arrange for some other transportation. Not only will driving drunk put you and others at serious risk, it gives you a good chance of being pulled over on a night like this, when police are on high alert.
