County commissioners approved the budget for installing the $35,000 package.

Department Director Darryl Meyer explains that the current system is obsolete and imposes some problems on the department activities, particularly due to the lack of voicemail capacity.

The new system will facilitate four-digit dialing to other county departments in old courthouse. It also equips 200 voicemail boxes with a fax-messaging feature.

The installation will start in mid-January and take about 60 days, according to Meyer.
