The tough part of the schedule is proving exactly that for the Albert Lea High School boys’ swimming and diving team.
The Tigers, who dropped their first dual meet last week after a 4-0 start, lost their second straight 95-82 to a strong Rochester Mayo team in the ALHS pool Thursday night. The Spartans didn’t count their points in the last two races after building a 95-57 lead.
Mitch Johnson had Albert Lea’s lone first place, winning the 100-yard freestyle in 51.39 seconds. He was second in the 200 free.
Other Albert Lea places: Ben Lindeman, second, 200 free and third, 500 free; Colton Jensen, fifth, 200 free and fourth, 500 free; Ben Schreiber, second, 200 IM and second, 100 breast; Ben Matheson, third, 200 IM and third, 100 breast; Josh Elwood, fifth, 200 IM and fifth, 500 free; Justin Elwood, fourth, 50 free and fourth, 100 butterfly; Ethan Berg, third, 100 butterfly and fourth, 100 back; Ryan Lowe, fourth, 100 free; Sean Harms, second, 100 back.
The Tigers compete Saturday in the Rochester Mayo Invitational.
