FARIBAULT – Nobody really expected the Albert Lea High School boys’ swimming and diving team to go unbeaten in dual meets this season.

But it was nice while it lasted.

The Tigers’ record is no longer perfect after Thursday, when they lost 99-79 to powerful Faribault in a Big Nine dual in the Falcons’ pool. It left Albert Lea’s record at 4-0.

How strong are the Falcons? Albert Lea won only two events, and by then Faribault had a 99-54 lead and did not count their points in those races.

The first was by Ben Schreiber, who won the 100-yard breaststroke.

Ben Lindeman, Justin Elwood, Mitch Johnson and Ethan Berg won the 400 freestyle relay.

Other Albert Lea places: Johnson, second, 200 free and second, 100 butterfly; Lindeman, third, 200 free and third, 500 free; Schreiber, fourth, 200 IM; Colton Jensen, third, 50 free and fifth, 500 free; Berg, second, 50 free and second, 100 free; Ryan Lowe, fourth, 50 free and third, 100 free; Justin Elwood, third, 100 butterfly; Josh Elwood, fourth, 100 butterfly and fourth, 100 back; Chris Borge, third, 100 back.
