It’s a big weekend for fund-raiser meals, so grab your appetites. You’re sure to find something to tickle your taste buds.

Following is a roundup of what’s happening this weekend.

Friday, Feb. 22

The exhibit of painter Richard Leet of Mason City and potter/clay artist O’Brien Tyrrell of Northwood continues at the Albert Lea Art Center, 224 S. Broadway. Hours are from noon-4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted to help offset Art Center costs.

The Lakeview PTO will hold its annual Fun Night fund-raiser. The festivities begin with pizza and root beer floats at 5:30 p.m., with games starting at 6 p.m. There will be a variety of games and fun activities for kids of all ages and grownups. The money raised pays for field trips and other extra programs for students and families at Lakeview School. This is the only major fund-raiser that the Lakeview PTO holds each year. The public is invited.

Saturday, Feb. 23

Taco Night, a fund-raiser for Emmons Borderfest, will be held at the Emmons American Legion Club from 5-8 p.m. Soft or hard-shell tacos are two for $3. Nachos with cheese sell from $1.50.

The Manchester Fire Department and its auxiliary will hold a soup and pie supper from 5-7 p.m. at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. In addition, five toy tractors, courtesy of Jensales, will be raffled off.

Sunday, Feb. 24

Minnesota Festival Theatre will host a pancake breakfast and silent auction from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Union Center, 404 E. Main St., Albert Lea. All funds raised from this event will go to the MFT operating budget for 2002. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for ages 12 and under, and will be available at the door.

The Albert Lea Noon Kiwanis Club will hold a Dad’s Belgian Waffles breakfast from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Albert Lea National Guard Armory. Cost is $5; children under 5 eat free. Carryouts are available. Tickets are available at the door.
