The trial of Shawn Casey Tope, 21, who is accused of three counts of methamphetamine production charges, has been postponed until July.
Defense attorney Peggy Rockow-Eskens has filed a motion to disclose the identity of an anonymous witness who provided information about Tope’s alleged meth production activity. She also waived the right to a speedy trial, and the four-day jury trial was rescheduled to July.
Tope was arrested last November with his brother Jason Tope in his residence at 205 Giles Place, Albert Lea, when they were allegedly producing meth. Jason Tope escaped from the county jail in February, and is still at large.
