Elmer James Yaroshek, 78, Albert Lea

Elmer James Yaroshek, age 78, of Albert Lea, formerly of Austin, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.

He was born July 16, 1923, the son of James and Lottie (Hudachek) Yaroshek in Austin. He received his education in Austin, graduating from Austin Central High School in 1941. On May 11, 1943, he entered the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II with the Third Marine Division. He attained the rank of Private First Class and was discharged on June 15, 1945. On Dec. 26, 1947, he was united in marriage to Ora Lucille Mahachek at the Methodist Church parsonage in Austin. The couple made their home in Austin, where Elmer was a long time employee of the Geo. A. Hormel Company, retiring in 1978. The couple moved to Albert Lea in November 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Yaroshek of Albert Lea.

His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel, Austin, with The , Austin, Rev. Donald Budd officiating. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91. Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home one-hour prior to the service on Friday.
