Graveside services for Iona Amelia (Johnson) Aske, of Albert Lea, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Iona Amelia (Johnson) Aske, age 76, passed away on April 27, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.

She was born April 3, 1926, to Adolph and Viola (Powers) Johnson. She attended school in Albert Lea. Iona and Jennings Aske were united in marriage on June 12, 1948. She worked at the Thompson’s Nursing Home and owned the Book Exchange.

Iona is survived by two sons: Wesley R. Aske of Syracuse, N.Y., and Stanley Aske of Albert Lea; one daughter, Jenona Oudekerk of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marvyl Hanson of Mankato, and Julene Bauleke of Owatonna; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Iona was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Aske; daughter, Brenda Rygh; six brothers: Orville, Delven, Rodger, Norman, Warren and Dale; and one sister, Wanda Packer.
