A new multipurpose indoor facility will stand in the place of the Rodeo Corral building, which was destroyed by fire last July, at the county fairgrounds.
The new 60-by-80-foot structure will provide space for various exhibitions and meetings. It will be equipped with air conditioning so to enable year-round operation.
In its Tuesday meeting, the county board awarded contracts for the project to three companies.
An award for the construction was given to Broskoff Structures, which had submitted a bid price of $96,560. Christianson Plumbing will be in charge of the mechanical and plumbing at $21,569. And BMT Electric will handle the electric system at $6,163.
The county expects the project will be complete before the Freeborn County Fair, which starts July 30.
