ALDEN &045; Earlier this season, Alden-Conger baseball coach Faron Bremseth said only half jokingly that a goal for the Knights was to play all seven innings, avoiding a 10-run loss.
The Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs weren’t laughing Thursday.
The young Knights made a bid for their first win of the year but lost 12-9 at Alden.
&uot;We’re getting closer,&uot; said Bremseth, whose team fell to 0-14. &uot;It was a very well played game.
Things were starting to click for us today.&uot;
Josh Wills was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Travis Newman 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Mike Minehart 2-for-3, Scott Martinson 2-for-4. Brett Penning doubled, Greg Opseth singled.
Minehart pitched a complete game, waking three and striking out three.
The Knights host Cleveland in a rescheduled nonconference game today.
