Albert C. Bure, 83, Austin

Albert C. Bure, age 83, of Austin, died at the Austin Medical Center on Tuesday morning, May 21, 2002.
One of eight children, he was born March 11, 1919, to Carl and Christine (Pederson) Bure in Cass County near Pequot Lakes, Minn. He married Mavis Olson in 1943. Mavis died in 1954 at age 28 of polio. He married Joyce Thompson on Aug. 6, 1955, at Clear Lake, Iowa. They lived near Rose Creek before moving to Austin. A member of Crane Chapel, Sons of Norway, and Teamsters Local 160, he worked for LCL Transit for 27 years and enjoyed his retirement helping others.
Survivors include sons: Gary Bure of Albert Lea, Richard (Suzanne) Bure of Austin, Randy Bure of Austin, Steven Bure of Austin, and Ronald (Susan) Bure of Lakeville; daughters: Cindy (Michael) Wadding of Austin, and Brenda (Steven) Martell of Austin; sisters: Ina Johnson of Albert Lea, Eva Hulburt of New Richland, Amy Struyk of Hollandale, and
Lolly Olson of Glenville; brother, Edward (Jeanette) Bure of Austin; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mavis, and his second wife, Joyce; and brothers: Jasper and Carl Bure.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Crane Community Chapel with The Rev. Randy Petersen officiating. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home, Austin, from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, and at the church one hour before the service. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
