A memorial service for Hildred Mae Weum, age 79, of Tacoma, Wash., will be held at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3, 4810 S. Tacoma Way, Tacoma, Wash., at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19.
She died Thursday, May 8, 2002, at home with her family.
Hildred was born on March 23, 1923, in Gettysburg, S.D., the daughter of Peter and Grace Harms. She was raised in Perham, Minn., moved to Albert Lea in 1953, then Rochester in 1977, and Tacoma after retirement in 1985.
Hildred is survived by her husband of 50 years, Eldred; five daughters: Sharon (Chuck) Brands of San Diego, Calif., Nancy (Doug) Wyllys of Toledo, Wash., Carol Massey of Tacoma, Wash., Phyllis Anderson of Tacoma, Wash., and Elizabeth (Ron) Mays of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren: Angela, Bradley, Vance and Beth Donovan, Chad and Michael Sarver, David Penkava and Ed McCullough, Nicholas lee, and Blake Brands; 13 great-grandchildren; and four sisters: twin sister Mildred Davis of Kenniwick, Wash., Ruth Steuber of Perham, Minn., Marjorie Paesler of Frazee, Minn., and Inez Petty of Port Angeles, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Massey; her parents; and four brothers: Chester, Arthur, Lloyd and William Harms.
