Former County Commissioner Keith Porter is seeking the County Auditor/ Treasurer position in the November election.

&uot;I don’t want to be retired,&uot; Porter said about the reason for his running. &uot;As a commissioner, I knew a lot of people there, and I am learning the job right from the bottom.&uot;

Porter was on the county board from 1993 to 2001, elected in the third district. In the last election, he lost the seat, defeated by Dan Springborg.

Incumbent Auditor/Treasurer Dennis Distad has already announced his candidacy.
