Clara Wittmer, 77, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Clara Wittmer of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake. Pastor Karen Behling will officiate. Interment will be In the church cemetery. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. on Saturday and will be one hour before the service today.

Clara died Thursday at her home. She was 77 years-old.

Clara was born Jan. 19, 1925 in Forest Township, Winnebago County, Iowa to Olaf and Anna (Vold) Bartleson. She attended school at Forest City, Iowa. Clara married Clarence Wittmer on Dec. 30, 1943 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake. They moved to rural Albert Lea in 1947. Clara was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Pickerel Lake and belonged to the Altar Guild, Banner Commission and church women. She also taught Sunday school. Clara enjoyed painting, drawing and crocheting. She was in charge of the arts and crafts at the Channel View Apartments.

Clara Is survived by her husband Clarence of Albert Lea, son; Carlton and his wife Susan of rural Albert Lea; grandchildren: Corey Wittmer and his wife Ruth of Albert Lea, Aaron Wittmer and his wife Karen of Kewaskum, Wis., Bryn Beloate and her husband Jason of rural Albert Lea, Mary and Kate Wittmer rural Albert Lea; great-grandchild: Kayla Wittmer of Albert Lea; sisters: Gena and Carde, both of California, Olga of Arkansas, Margret of Forest City, Iowa; sisters-in-law:. Maleta Breamer, Margret Yost both of rural Albert Lea; nieces and nephews.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan; sister, Myrtle; brothers, Paul, Arthur and Donald.
