Edwin Henry Bothun, 94, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Edwin Henry Bothun will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Gregory P. Ciesluk will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Edwin died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Thorne Crest North Retirement Center, Health Care Wing, where he had been a resident for the past two months. He was 94 years old.
Edwin was born on April 30,1908, in Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Henry and Elma (Hagen) Bothun. He grew up in Luck, Wis., and attended school in Luck and St. Croix Falls, Wis.
On Aug. 31, 1929 Edwin was united in marriage with Margaret L. Einwalter in Waterloo, Iowa. He retired after 42 years of working as an industrial engineer for John Deere Company in Waterloo. They moved to Albert Lea in 1978. Edwin was a life member of the Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spectator sports.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Margaret of Albert Lea; son, Richard Bothun and his wife Joan of Albert Lea; one grandson, Jason Bothun of Waterloo, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elma Bothun; one brother, George and his wife Loneita; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Edwin was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.
