Helen Schuster, 92, Wells

Funeral services for Helen Schuster, age 92, of Wells, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate.

Visitation will be at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral in Wells from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., and visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday, with a rosary service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

She died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the United Hospital in Blue Earth.

Helen was born May 2, 1910, the daughter of Joseph and Tekla (Dousa) Sereda, She married Edward W. Schuster on Feb. 5, 1929, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake.

Helen grew up in the Minnesota Lake area and attended school there. In 1941, Helen and her husband Edward moved to a farm near Wells. They moved into Wells in 1988, and Helen moved into Parkview Care Center in 1999. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, the Foresters, and the Wells Senior Citizens. Helen was a cook at the Catholic School and worked at the Golden Bubble as a waitress for many years She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, dancing, playing cards, and especially being with her family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Jim, and his wife Rosanne Schuster of Baudette, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Betty Schuster of Wells; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Kalis of Waldorf; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Schuster of Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1989; son, Bob, in 1997; one brother, Edward; four sisters: Minnie, Tillie, Agnes and Lillian; one great-grandson; and one great-great-granddaughter in infancy.
