Betty Ann Haines, 72, Owatonna

The funeral service for Betty Ann Haines was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Jerald Loper officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the chapel.

Betty Ann died on Wednesday at Cedarview Nursing Home in Owatonna. She was 72 years old.

Betty Ann was born in Albert Lea on Jan. 26, 1930, the daughter of Kenneth and Minnie Rose (Musek) Hoium. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.

On Feb. 1, 1948, Betty Ann was united in marriage with Duane Haines at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Most of her life was spent in Albert Lea but had worked for Boeing Aircraft in Tacoma, Wash. and had owned and operated White Fish Lake Resort in Max, Minn. for 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Glenville. She enjoyed needlework, playing bingo and watching loons.

Betty Ann is survived by five children: Judy (Tim) Clear of Owatonna, Joyce (John) Remkus of Rosemount, Minn., John Haines of Owatonna, Jack (Evelyn) Haines of Owatonna, Jenne Ondracek of Mizpah, Minn.; 14 grandchildren: Kristine Weitzerkamp, Dawn (Mike) Harorik, Brian (Kristal) Clear, Melissa Ondracek, Katie (Calvin) Mitchell, Denise Remkus, Matthew Clear, William Ondracek Jr., Kyle Haines, Jessica Ondracek, Alisha Haines, Bittina Haines, Corissa Haines and Sarah Haines; nine great grandchildren: Kellee Thorson, Kassandra Clear, Allyson Thorson, Danyelle Clear, Alex Mitchell, Gabrile Mitchell, Cody Remkus, Christina Ondracek, Katlin Mitchell; three brothers: Ronnie Hoium and family of Albert Lea, Roger Hoium and Trish of Austin, Richard Hoium and family of Albert Lea; one sister, Barb Hampton and family of Albert Lea.

Betty Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; son, James Haines.
