Henry W. Dulitz, 78, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Henry W. Dulitz, age 78, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Henry died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Henry W. Dulitz was born March 14, 1924, in Cairo, Neb., to Henry and Velma (Deeds) Dulitz. He moved to Albert Lea in 1940. On July 7, 1945, Henry was united in marriage to Lorraine Thompson in Albert Lea. In 1946, he started working at Star Granite Works and in 1967 became the sole owner until he retired in 1992. Henry was a member of the Eagles for 50 years and the Elks for 41 years. In 1984 he was named Elk of the Year and in 1985 designed and donated the Elks artwork in the Lodge. Henry enjoyed his artwork, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his family and friends.

Survivors include his children: Linda Shanley of Woodbury, Minn., Michael Dulitz and his wife Kathryn of Woodbury, and Ruth Ann Mickelsen and her husband Bob of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Douglas and David Shanley, Christina and Nicholas Dulitz, John Mickelsen and his wife Shara, and Chad Mickelsen; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brittany and Shelby Mickelsen, Riannon Shanley, and Riley Mickelsen; brother, L. A. “Ade” Dulitz and his wife Darlene of Iron River, Wis.; sister, Shirley Stevenson and her husband Fred of Crawfordsville, Ind.; and nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; three brothers; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law.
