After a successful week at the national convention in Kansas City the Albert Lea Eagles Club returns home with winning Aerie and Auxiliary teams in the initiation ritual competition.

Both the Aerie (men’s) and Auxiliary (women’s) teams also won the state competition in mid-June.

The Aerie team consists of current and past presidents, though it isn’t a requirement of participation. Ken Ayers, junior past president, Ron Sorenson, president, Woody Stallkamp, vice president, Chuck Harty, conductor, and Doug Lind, chaplain, make up the team and were also named to the All-State team in the Initiation Ritual competition.

The Auxiliary team additionally won the district competition. Different from the men’s ritual team, the Auxiliary team has an escort detail of eight additional members. Gail Harty, junior past president, Bonnie Arnold, vice president, Lue Miller, conductor, Gwen Stallkamp, chaplain, and Linda Scherff, president, the Auxiliary members were all named to the All State team. Escort members participating were Lorraine Reim, Shirley Johnson, Janet Ayers, Mary Harty, Nancy King, Debbie Madson, Cora Lancaster, Debbie Cunningham, Marie Holcomb, and Carolyn Brenegan.

The teams practice weekly throughout the year and conduct the initiation ceremonies for most new Eagles members.

Members of the teams work at the Eagles weekly meal events to fund their trips to national and state conventions.
