Pauline T. Herman, 99, Wells

Funeral services for Pauline T. Herman, age 99, of Wells, will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev.

Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation is at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday, with a rosary service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Church, Wells.

She died Sunday Aug. 4, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea where she had resided for the past five years.

She was born on June 17, 1903, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Bushlack) Stenzel, and married John A. “Jack” Herman on May 9, 1933, in Wells.

Pauline worked at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester prior to her marriage, She was a farm wife, and worked with the St. Casimir’s School lunch program after retiring from the farm. She was a member of the St. Casimir Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and fishing.

She is survived by one son, John F. and his wife Helen Herman of Wells; two daughters: LaVonne and husband Harold Thisius of Wells, and Jeanette and husband Jim Wilder of Bloomingdale, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack, in 2000; three sisters: Mary Giese, Julia Schultz, and Agnes Janssen; and four brothers: Joe, Peter, John, and Aloysius Stenzel.
