Samuel George Beighley, 79, Poway, Calif.

Word has been received of the death of Samuel George Beighley on Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at Vistas Hospice Care, Alzheimer’s Unit. He was a resident of Poway, Calif., for 40 years.

He was born to Nellie (Frost) and James A Beighley on Dec. 15, 1920, in Freeborn County at Gordonsville.

Survivors include sons: Charles, Bruce and Timothy Beighley; grandchildren: Brad, Aaron, Jeffery Beighley, and Scott, Shelly, Sundae, Janelle Schultz; and sister, Vickie Miller of Mankato.

He was preceded by wives, Muriel (Forsythe) and Marlyn (Norstad); daughter. Janice Schultz; sisters: Blanche Nelson, June Dahle and Ruth Weigel; and brothers: Elmer and James.

Sam was a 50-year member of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, past Captain Emeritus and Charter Member of Al Bahr Shrine, former Commander of Poway VFW, member of Elks Lodge, Fleet Reserve, and American Legion.

Sam retired in 1959 as C.M.M. U.S. Navy.

Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of San Diego, Calif. inurnment will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Dearborn Memorial Park, 12361 Tierra Bonita Road, Poway, Calif.
